Who are The Faders?

Hailing from Sydney, The Faders are one of the hottest female DJ duos to hit the music scene.

Ask The Faders what the highlight of their career has been so far and they’ll tell you it’s a toss-up between being asked to open for the likes of Rita Ora and N*E*R*D, playing at an official event in London during the 2012 Olympic Games, performing at the official 2012 MTV Europe music Awards after party in Frankfurt and releasing their debut compilation album ‘F.U.N.’ through Universal Music.

For five years now, The Faders, aka Milly Gattegno (Milly) and Suhana Lye (Sui) have been causing quite a ruckus, bringing the party to the hottest clubs, world-renowned festivals and industry events right across the country, gaining notoriety for their effortless djing style and floor-filling skills.

Milly and Sui’s story began over a shared musical love for old school hip-hop, RnB and party jams. Working together for mtv by day, it wasn’t until they were asked play at a friend’s album launch party that they realised there may be more to their passion for ‘90s hip-hop, early noughties RnB and late night partying than they first thought. That friend happened to be California-hailing, award winning rapper and producer, Snob Scrilla.

It was their impressive song repertoire and on-set chemistry that drew in the crowds that night, leaving party-goers wanting more from this enigmatic girl dj duo, who exhibited an innate knack for knowing exactly what the punters wanted. Their natural skills behind the decks saw them invited to perform during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week soon after. From that moment on, things have not slowed down a second for The Faders.

The duo have since played at some of the most exclusive events on the social calendar, called on by the likes of Myer for their Melbourne Cup festivities, Absolut, Who magazine, Penfolds, and international fashion house Chanel, to name a few; all of which had caught wind of their ability to create a killer house party atmosphere wherever they go.

The Faders music style is simply described as the ‘ultimate party set’ encompassing everything from old school hip hop, RnB, commercial dance music and rock anthems.
